Marla is an accomplished insurance and Risk Management executive who has 40 years of experience working in the Chicago, New York City, and Greater Detroit markets. She has held positions in a wide array of disciplines, including underwriting, marketing, business development, communications, strategic planning, operations, and chief of staff. Marla has worked on both the supplier side (insurance companies) and distribution (brokerage). Her accomplishments include a professional designation as a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and the National Association of Insurance Women 'Enterprising Achiever Award' in 1993. She also served on the board of the Casualty & Surety Society of New York, a top organization for insurance and brokerage professionals. Ms. Donovan recently completed a nine year term on the Board of Directors at the Detroit Institute of Arts and is involved in various tutoring and mentoring programs. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Political Science and Romance Languages & Literature in 1978. Her interests include travel, reading, politics, art and culture, theater, opera, and classical music.
